한화의 차륜형 자주포에서 핵심은 '자동화된 무인포탑'에 있다. 갑자기 뭔 뚱딴지같은 소리냐 할 수 있는데, 한화의 차륜형 자주포에서 계속 공개되는 여러가지 차량은 그저 '이렇게 많은 차량에 통합할 체계 통합역량을 갖추고 있다'에 가깝다.
전에 'RCH 155와 비슷한 컨셉'*이란 말을 한 적이 있다는 것을 기억하는가? 정확히 이 얘긴 Artillerie-Geschütz-Modul(AGM)이다. 실제로 RCH 155에서 주요 체계는 복서 장갑차가 아니라 AGM이다.

AGM, 풀어 말해 포병-포-모듈로 이는 PzH2000의 화력을 무인/자동화한 포탑모듈이다. 사용군에 따라 트럭, 궤도화된 장갑차량 혹은 차륜형 장갑차 등 폭넓은 장착군을 가진다.
이는 포탑에 포탄, 장약을 포함한 사격장치를 포탑에 몰아 넣어 하부 구조를 가지지 않으며, 승무원이 캐빈에서 원격 조종을 하며, 포탑과 캐빈사이에 APU, 배터리 등을 포함한 전력장치를 가지는 적재함 구조를 가지기 때문이다.
한화의 경우, 이러한 차량 승무원실/적재함/무인포탑모듈 이란 구성을 이용한 모듈식 컨셉을 그대로 채용했다고 볼 수 있다.

그렇기 때문에 기품원이 주관하는 국방품질학술대회의 천무 차대 기반이나, 카덱스에서 선보인 한화가 제휴중인 TATRA 8x8 차량 기반이나, AUSA에서 선보인 미국의 M917A3 트럭 등은 요구사항에 따라 언제든 바뀔 수 있다. 애초에 정해진 차대랄게 없는 시스템이니 말이다.
